Pulitzer Prize finalist: The Louisville Courier Journal, including my work, was honored as a 2021 Pulitzer Prize finalist in the Public Service category, “for its unflinching, comprehensive and impactful coverage of the killing of Breonna Taylor and the legacy of systemic racism in the police force and other civic institutions in Louisville, which helped to spur important reforms.”

Other awards

National Headliner Awards: Our coverage of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse on March 26, 2024 won first place in breaking news for newspapers of all sizes. Judges praised The Baltimore Sun’s “shoe-leather reporting” and “good, concise writing.” (2025)

Society of Professional Journalists: Key Bridge coverage also won SPJ’s Sigma Delta Chi national award for Deadline Reporting. (2025)
